Andrew was born in England , raised in Alberta, worked in Ottawa, and has lived in Calgary since the ’88 Olympics. In his late teens and twenties he was a member of Canada’s National Speed Skating Team which allowed him to  travel and compete in International ISU competitions, World Championships and Olympic Games.

His travels have taken him to Korea, China, Japan, England, Russia, most of Europe, as well as Scandinavia with  a recent trip to Scotland and England  where he and his wife cycled from the west to the east coast through the Lake District. 

Andrew's careers have spanned the spectrum with time spent as a maintenance worker, bar manager, sport administrator, National and Olympic Team Coach, Sport Consultant, Guest National Team Coach in Japan, Teacher Calgary Board of Education, father, husband, avid outdoor enthusiast, aikido instructor and photographer.

Andrew is transitioning from living  in Calgary, Alberta  to Canmore with his wife and sometimes visiting children, as well as his highly trained Bichon-Shih Tzu guard dog.

Artist’s Statement

Andrew believes that in this era of digital overload it is a huge challenge to capture a unique image. He finds motivation in seeking to make each shot unique by creating an impression, or mood, that  is either new or summons up a past emotion.
